Collaboration & Partnerships

Supporting organisations, artists and community projects to embed wellbeing, reflection and culturally aware practice.

I work in collaboration with organisations, creative practitioners and community-led projects who recognise the importance of holding people with care — particularly when working with stories, heritage and emotionally significant material.

My role is to bring a grounded, person-centred approach that supports both individuals and the wider environment of a project. This might involve creating space for reflection, strengthening facilitation practice, or developing resources that support collective care.

Who I Work With

  • Arts and heritage organisations

  • Community and socially engaged projects

  • Cultural institutions and programmes

  • Creative practitioners and collectives

  • Education and training providers

If your work involves people, stories, or shared experience, there is often a place for wellbeing to be more intentionally held.

How We Can Work Together

Each collaboration is shaped around the needs of the project, but my work often includes:

  • Supporting projects to embed reflective, trauma-aware and culturally grounded approaches from the outset.
This may include guidance on holding sensitive content, supporting teams, and creating sustainable ways of working

  • Designing and delivering sessions that build confidence, awareness and practical skills.
    Areas include:

    • Holding emotional space

    • Cultural awareness and racial literacy

    • Group facilitation and participation

    • Reflective practice

  • Creating bespoke resources that can be used across a project or organisation.
These are designed to be practical, accessible and adaptable, supporting both staff and participants in real time.

  • Working alongside artists and project teams to integrate emotional depth, reflection and care into creative processes.
This can include contributing to research and development, supporting process, or holding space within the work as it evolves.

Experience in Practice

My collaborative work brings together my background as a counsellor and my experience working across community, creative and heritage contexts.

Recent work includes:

  • Developing a wellbeing toolkit and delivering training for a heritage project supporting community storytelling and engagement

  • Facilitating group sessions focused on self-compassion, reflection and shared experience

  • Supporting individuals and groups working with complex emotional material

Across these settings, my focus remains consistent, creating environments where people feel safe enough to engage, reflect and contribute meaningfully.

Testimonials

The following testimonials are offered by those who have experienced these spaces first-hand. They reflect the importance of creating environments where people feel safe enough to share, connect and explore their experiences with care.

  • “Lorraine created a safe, welcoming environment where I felt comfortable sharing and engaging with others.”

  • “Lorraine is warm, empathetic and highly attentive — she made each person feel heard and valued.”

  • “The session created space for meaningful, in-depth discussion. I came away with a stronger understanding and practical tools.”

  • “She encouraged even the quieter participants to contribute, creating a rich and inclusive group experience.”

My Approach

My work is rooted in a person-centred approach, guided by empathy, authenticity and respect.

Alongside this, I bring an awareness of cultural context, group dynamics and the importance of pacing, particularly in spaces where people may be sharing personal or sensitive experiences.

I aim to balance care with clarity, allowing space for reflection while supporting meaningful engagement and participation.
